Most throws end up folded in a cupboard. This one has the drape of wool without the itch, so it stays out on the arm of the sofa where a blanket is actually useful.

It's knitted in an interlocking chain pattern and worked reversibly — the same design on both sides with the colors swapped, so it never has a wrong side facing up. The knit is tight and dense, about 840 g: heavy enough to hold its shape, light enough to keep out through summer under air conditioning.

The high-contrast pattern does a lot of work in a plain room, over a sofa, across an armchair or folded at the end of a bed. It also makes a housewarming gift that suits almost any house.
